Ryan curates art for a living — so being hired by him and Chris meant something. Their June wedding unfolded across two floors of their Buffalo home: cocktails in Rivalry Projects, the gallery Ryan owns below, then vows on the rooftop deck as the city settled into dusk. Every red sculptural detail was handmade by the couple — a visual autobiography of their life together.

Friends strung the lights. A godfather officiated.
Half the guests had come in from Boston — Chris’s people, making the trip. The other half were Buffalo through and through. By the end of the night, you couldn’t tell the difference. What started as a wedding turned into exactly what it should have: a long, warm, slightly loud evening among people who genuinely love each other.
