Reach out through the contact page with a few details about what you’re looking for. From there, we’ll set up a call — I like to actually talk before anyone commits to anything. If it’s a good fit, booking is handled digitally: a signed contract and a retainer secures your date.

Yes, and yes. We’re fully insured and happy to provide proof of insurance to any venue that requires it. Every piece of equipment we bring — camera bodies, lenses, memory cards, lighting — has a backup.

Every project is scoped individually — the work, the time, and what you need to walk away with. Pricing is shared during our initial conversation. If you’d like a general sense before we connect, you’re welcome to ask when you reach out.

Studio Nouveau has been operating since 2006. Photography has been my full-time focus for nearly two decades. You’re in experienced hands.

Primarily documentary — I’m watching, reading the room, and working with what’s actually happening. My fine art background means I’m always looking for the light, the composition, the fraction of a second that makes an image last. I’ll occasionally make a quiet suggestion — let’s move over here — but I’m not staging moments or manufacturing emotions. What I’m after is the real thing.

Yes — and often. We’re based in Boston and work throughout New England regularly, but destination weddings are very much part of what we do. Recent years have taken us to New York, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Ireland, Italy, Spain, South Africa, and beyond. If you’re planning something away, reach out and we’ll put something together.

A retainer of one third is due at signing — that’s what secures your date. The second third is due at the midpoint between booking and your wedding, and the final third is due two weeks before. We accept credit card and check.

Not required, but genuinely worth it. The engagement session is where we get comfortable with each other — you learn that the camera isn’t something to perform for, and I get a sense of how you two actually are together. That ease carries directly into your wedding day. It’s also just a nice thing to have: a portrait of the two of you, not on your wedding day. That said, if it doesn’t work for your timeline or budget, your wedding photos will still be great.

On average, 100 to 150 images per hour of coverage. For a full wedding day, most couples receive somewhere between 700 and 1000 photographs — a complete record of everything that mattered.

For family formals, absolutely. About a month before your wedding we’ll work through that list together so the day runs smoothly. Beyond that, we don’t work from shot lists. What’s in our portfolio is what we do, and it happens by being present and paying attention, not by replicating someone else’s moment. If there’s something meaningful to your day — an heirloom, a tradition, a person — tell us. We’ll be watching for it.

Every image in your gallery has been edited for color, exposure, and consistency. Our roots are in film photography, and that sensibility has always informed our aesthetic — there’s a warmth and integrity to the images that holds up over time. What you see in our portfolio is what you’ll receive. Final images are album-ready. If you’re interested in additional retouching beyond our standard edit, that’s available and we can discuss it.

For longer days and larger celebrations, yes — and the distinction matters. When a second photographer is part of your collection, I bring someone I’ve worked alongside for years, whose work I trust completely. Two experienced perspectives on the same moments. For high production events, I’ll occasionally bring a third photographer — someone dedicated to details, decor, or getting ahead of the day. That’s something we can talk through together, and I’m happy to coordinate with your planner or production team directly.

From individual headshots to full team portrait days, executive and founder portraiture, workplace and culture photography, lab and research environments, and event coverage. If it lives in the professional world, we’ve likely shot it.

For companies seeking a complete creative partnership — photography, brand identity, and science communication under one roof — that work lives at Frissn, our studio serving the biotech and research sectors.

In studio or on location — whichever serves the work. We have access to curated studio spaces in the Boston area, and a full kit that travels anywhere. If your office, lab, or environment is part of the story, we’ll shoot there. If you want something clean and controlled, we’ll bring that to you.

Once you book, we send a preparation guide that covers this in detail. The short version: bring a few options, think about how you want to be perceived, and avoid anything that feels like a costume. We’ll review what you’ve brought together before we start shooting.

For individual portrait sessions, you’ll receive a proofing gallery of 50 to 75 images to review, with two fully retouched finals included. Additional retouched files are available.

For corporate portrait days — where we’re moving through a full team or leadership group — delivery is structured around volume, with organized galleries and retouching scoped to your needs. We’ll outline exactly what to expect during the booking process.

Proofing galleries are typically ready within two weeks of your session. Fully retouched finals are delivered within five business days of your selections. If you’re working toward a deadline — a launch, a press moment, a funding round — let us know upfront and we’ll do what we can to accommodate.

An Alchemy Session is a hybrid experience — part shamanic alignment, part branding portrait. It’s designed for people who understand that how they show up in an image has everything to do with how they’re showing up inside.

This one deserves more than a paragraph. The full experience is described on the Alchemy page — and if it resonates, the next step is a clarity call so we can talk about whether it’s the right fit.

Start with a clarity call. This isn’t a typical booking process — we’ll talk first to make sure it’s the right fit, the right timing, and the right container for where you are. You can schedule directly here.

Family portraits, maternity, newborn, and milestone sessions — primarily on location. That might mean your home, a neighborhood you love, or somewhere in nature that feels like yours. The approach is the same regardless: documentary at heart, with an eye for the moments that are actually happening rather than the ones that are posed into existence.

Most family and lifestyle sessions run about an hour. Newborn sessions can run a little longer — babies set the pace. We’ll talk through timing when we book so there are no surprises.

On location — your home, a park, a beach, somewhere that already means something to you. We’re based in Boston and work throughout New England. Travel fees apply for locations more than 30 miles out.

Somewhere between two and three weeks is the sweet spot — babies are still sleepy and curled, and you’re just beginning to surface. That said, we can work with any age and will talk through timing with you.

Your proofing gallery is ready within two to three weeks of your session. If you’re working toward a holiday card, an announcement, or any other deadline, let us know upfront and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
