Lara and her team are just amazing. If you want your big day captured beautifully, stop looking and hire Studio Nouveau! After we locked down our venue, we knew that choosing a photographer would be an important decision. After finding Studio Nouveau, we were impressed immediately by Lara's responsiveness and friendly demeanor over email; when we met her in her studio we were sold!

Lara first photographed me about six years ago, and it was the first headshot that ever really felt like me, and the first I actually wanted to use. She has a rare ability to put people at ease and capture them as they are at their best. Her photographs feel light, natural and unhurried, with a polish that never tips into something overly posed. I now turn to Lara for all of our company headshots and high-profile events. Everyone knows her, everyone loves working with her, and her work has become part of how we show up in the world.

My husband and I were lucky enough to live in the same town as Studio Nouveau, so we stopped in after work one day and sat down with Lara, the owner. We weren’t interested in hiring a videographer for our wedding, which made picking the perfect photographer all that more important. When we sat down with her that hot/humid summer night, and she handed me an iced cold Narragansett summer shandy, I knew we would get along. Lara is easy to hang out with, she had us laughing from the moment we met her - which is very important!

What I love about Lara’s photographs is that the people in them look and feel like themselves. She has a rare ability to capture someone’s personality and presence without making the images feel overly posed or polished. Working with Lara is just as enjoyable. She’s flexible, professional, and has a wonderful way of making everyone on set feel comfortable, even when the set is in the middle of a crowded office.

I am at a loss for words at how perfect and beautiful the entire experience of working with Lara and Val was before the big day and during the wedding. From the very beginning during our engagement photo shoot, (which I suggest to every engaged couple in order to get used to the camera always being there during your big day) Lara made my husband and I feel completely comfortable and made it seem like we were just taking a walk in the woods.
