Mahima + James
Colorful Tradition
Mahima + James

Fifteen years into a life already built together, Mahima and James had nothing to prove. They simply wanted to gather their people, feed them extraordinarily well, fill the room with color and music, and let everyone have a beautiful time. Their Brooklyn wedding felt generous, relaxed, and completely alive, a celebration created for everyone who had shared the journey with them.

A life, given ceremony
I had known Mahima for more than a decade, beginning with a portrait we made together in New York, and it meant so much that she had always known I would photograph this day. Their Hindu ceremony gave form to a commitment already shaped by fifteen years of shared life. Family traditions, photographs of their parents, vivid fabric, and sacred ritual held the morning. Then came cocktails, an enormous cake, brilliant music, and a room full of people ready to celebrate them.
