The SESSION
Nothing to perform.
e began with energy work and went deeper than either of us expected. What surfaced touched identity, lineage, intuition, and parts of Emily’s inner life that had been asking for more space.
By the time we moved into the portrait session, there was nothing to manufacture. We followed what was present. Strength, softness, grief, humor, mystery. I photographed Emily through all of it, sometimes directing and sometimes simply witnessing.
What followed extended far beyond the photographs. The session became part of a larger unfolding in Emily’s relationship to ancestry, spirituality, and the intuitive gifts she had carried for years.
