Sam & Michael
Some couples choose a venue. Sam and Michael chose a world. Labor Day weekend in Provincetown — the kind of place that has always welcomed love in every form — felt like the only setting for a wedding as authentic and joyful as theirs.
The day began with a ketubah signing that was already a celebration: family gathered close, Sam’s mother on guitar, his brother leading the ceremony.
From there, the couple slipped into downtown Providence for portraits along the water and in the streets before boarding the gondola up to the summit of Pilgrim Monument, where their guests were waiting and the whole of Cape Cod stretched out below.
The design was coastal and foraged — tall grasses, driftwood, shells, and barnacles in their natural muted tones, warmed by lavender candles glowing inside glass and the faint purple of barnacle and bloom. Foraged Floral made it feel like the sea itself had arranged the tables. Sam and Michael wore custom suits by Cad and the Dandy, New York, and the evening ended with a lively dance floor under a perfect September sky.
Their beloved black doodle made an appearance for portraits at the monument — a fitting cameo for a dog who is clearly central to their story.
Sam and Michael are best friends who balance and challenge one another in equal measure. Their vows made people laugh and cry in the same breath. That’s the kind of love that photographs itself.
