If you’ve been following along on our insta-stories, you know we’ve spent the last ten days in Spain for an engagement shoot, and I’m currently blogging this from Vermont… have I mentioned we love to travel?! This is one of my FAVORITE destination weddings – Suzie + Issac were married at Mt. Hood Organic Farm in Oregon. I’ve photographed many weddings with white mountain backdrops in NH, but Mt. Hood is something else – I know why Suzie and Isaac chose this location!
Suzie is a landscape architect, so this garden venue with it’s beautiful and natural vibe, unique buildings and epic mountain was an obvious fit. Many of their guests came from the east coast, like myself, so this was an extra treat for all of us. The Pacific Northwest has a special place in my heart – the people are lovely and relaxed, and THE LIGHT!
Susie and Isaac prioritized their friends and family from start to finish: there were lawn games, delicious organic farm to table apps and cocktails, Isaac’s niece made their wedding cake, and the flowers were all sourced locally. You could feel the love in every corner of this wedding. And Suzie and Isaac have such a connection – they oscillate between playful and silly to deep stares, where I was sure that they were reading each other’s thoughts.
I spent a few days with them before the wedding for their engagement shoot and rehearsal dinner – all the while Miss Mt. Hood stayed socked in the clouds, but she must have heard Susie’s wishes, and cleared just in time for portraits!
