I first met Alex and Allison in their South End neighborhood, at Coppa, for drinks. It immediately felt like getting together with old friends. We chatted about the details of their upcoming Moraine Farm wedding, but quickly tangent-ed to tails of travels over sees, hilariously scandalous college stories, and I had a million questions about their jobs: they are both gynecologists. We were two bottles of wine deep and I got schooled. I left that meeting excited to have made two new friends, and also hoping I hadn’t said anything too* wildly inappropriate, haha, although knowing these two it would be hard to offend them.
Their Moraine Farm wedding was a fabulous representation of who they are: incredibly stylish and put together, but still fun and laid back. They had so many thoughtful components from their friend who sang opera to their florals from Erica at Lilac and Lily which were out of this world- the hanging orbs in the tent, the gold geometric centerpieces, the proteas on the chuppah, and Allison’s bouquet picked up on the beautiful colors already at the farm and enhanced them. They had a gorgeous day which was perfect for their garden party, with a retro styled swing band, bacce and outdoor games, some Island Creek Oysters and a cheese cake… like, an actual cake made of cheese. A+A aren’t dessert people but they ARE cheese people, so Formaggio in the south end put together an amazing display, and they “cut the cake” at the cocktail hour for guests to enjoy. This was all topped off with their warm and wonderful families. Have a look!
