I’m sort of in love with these two and their entire shoot. Ashley + Alex didn’t have any firm ideas of where they wanted to do their engagement shoot, and with a May wedding date, that pretty much dictated winter was our season. They happened to email me about setting something up right when I was planning a ski vaca with my husband J, and I threw out the NH ice castles in Lincoln, NH as an idea, since I was going to be up there anyway. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into, haha. It just so happened they were available the weekend I was going to NH, and drove from Boston to meet me there. Since we were going to be in a “castle”, I asked Ashley how she felt about getting gussied up, and send a few links to some dresses on rent the runway… {and an entire style board but who’s keeping track}. Girlfriend did NOT disappoint. And Alex rose to the occasion of arm candy with a finely tailored suit.
We got to the ice castles early, and conspired to run to the back, away from tourists, as soon as the gates opened. JACKPOT. We had the entire back part of the castles to ourselves for some glorious wide shots and an opportunity to wander around and take it all in alone.
We had planned a backup location in the white mountains off the Kangamangus at Lincoln Woods trail, which we decided to use for a second casual vibe – I always think it’s fun to have two looks or locations if they’re close. It also didn’t hurt that these two just know how to have fun, even when challenged with something slightly out of their comfort zone, and they are beyond sweet together. I’m so glad we went for it guys! And really loved hitting the pubs after our shoot together, for some apres shoot beverages and 2 foot mound of nachos. BFFs 4 lyfe. I can’t wait* for May!!
