So how about Friday, huh?! The Supreme Court of the United States finally ruled that states were not allowed to deny marriage recognition to same-sex couples who have federal marriage recognition, and we think that is cause for some SERIOUS CELEBRATION. We’re UBER proud to live in Massachusetts that has supported the right to marriage for everyone for a while, but it fills our hearts with so much joy to know that all loving couples who want to be married, soon will be able to. I really needed some good news this week, and this TOTALLY made me jump for joy. I couldn’t think of a more appropriate blog post to celebrate with than Brian & Scott. THESE TWO. OMG these two. I fell in love with them the minute we met. I think we gabbed and laughed for a solid two hours that first meeting, and that energy hasn’t stopped- from their engagement shoot, to meet ups for post-wedding margs, and dropping in to say hi at the studio for afternoon beers when they were SUPPOSED to be changing their last names at the courthouse, haha, I hope it never ends.
Brian & Scott’s wedding at the beautiful Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport was the perfect destination wedding. With all their friends and family occupying all the rooms, we were met with hugs and kisses, and heckling from the balconies, tears & laughter all day. I’m not sure who was more excited to be getting married, the couple or ALL their friends. Wow, what a support system. In classic Studio Nouveau fashion, we sniffled behind our cameras through the ceremony and the toasts – so special. And I actually had to TAKE DOWN MY FLASHES during “It’s raining Men”, because this crew shook the WHOLE dance floor, and my flashes were going to fall!
It’s really fun to watch Brian and Scott chat. They lock eyes, finish eachother’s sentences, and lovingly point out the ways they balance each other out. Scott: analytical and pragmatic, Margaritas with salt. Brian: heart on sleeve, split decisions, no salt {like me}. Both have a soft place for their beagle, Winston. And both appreciate sarcasm: OBVS we get along famously.
