Kate and I been blown away by all the amazing women we’ve met at our boudoir shoots: big talent, big beauty, big brains! So of COURSE we had to share! We’re excited to introduce Boudoir Bombshell Bios! Our first amazing bombshell is Miss N. We asked her a series of questions, and here are her answers along with some of her outstanding images!
Age: 28
Occupation: Architect
What are you most proud about?
Oh gosh, this is actually a hard one for some reason… I am proud of my newfound yoga practice, finally finding some balance in this world. I am also a proud foodie! I LOVE cooking and groiwng my own harvest!
What made you sign up for a boudoir shoot?
I wanted to do something sexy, but classy for my husband just as a random surprise gift. I also feel like I did it for myself, in a way, as I am proud of my body (its flaws and all) and wanted to feel sexy. My husband had no idea I was doing it and when it came in the mail, he was happyily surprised that I went out of my way to do something so unexpected for him… little did he know that I was doing it for me too 🙂
Was the shoot what you were expecting?
I didnt know what to expect, really. The shoot itself was actually very relaxing, and Lara was great at making me feel very comfortable and at ease during the whole shoot. She talks you through all the different poses, making sure the light hits your body just right, allowing the shadows that are cast to work for you, not against you. She even asks if whomever you are doing the shoot for has a favorite body part so she can accentuate it during the shoot. She tells you how great you look so you feel fabulous and confident through the whole shoot. Lara also directs you through all the different poses very wonderfully, so you just follow her instruction/guide and you are sure to get great photos/results!
How did you feel after the shoot? And after seeing your images?
At the end of the shoot I felt great, confident, and really excited to see what the photos might look like. Lara and Kate did such a nice job retouching and chosing some of the photos to be black and white. The old mill building they have their studio in is fanastic for photography with the tall windows and bare structure. I was really impressed with how the photos came out. It was really difficult chosing a limited amount for my book. Of course, I had a lot of self-criticism, but most of it was my dissapointment with the second outfit I had picked out. I wish I had picked something more playful, rather than intense. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I left thinking that I wish I had known about Kate and Lara when I selected a photographer for our wedding!
Would you recommend a boudoir shoot to friends?
Absolutely! I told many friends about it afterwards. I even recommended it to my 55 year old mother!
Did you have a significant other view your photos? if yes, what was his/her reaction?!
I had told my husband that I bought something for him and it was coming in the mail. He didn’t tell me right away that it arrived, but I could tell by the way he was acting that it came in, haha. He was acting all shy and kind of nervous. It was cute. He was very grateful that I went out of my comfort zone to do this for him. In reality, I didnt go out of my comfort zone. It was a lot of fun, and I would definitely do it again.
