About Studio Nouveau
ESTABLISHED IN 2007 #LIKEABOSS
We pride ourselves on our ability to take our business and artistry seriously, but not ourselves. We love that more often than not, our clients become our friends, and we continue to photograph their milestones. We’re not your run-of-the-mill photographers; we won’t pose you like barbie dolls or origami your newborn into a crocheted cocoon. Our aim is to show your best selves – our photos capture the joyful energy & positivity that you naturally radiate. If you’re looking for stunning images, want to enjoy being photographed, are focused on your friends & family, and love to laugh, then call us crazy…but this might just be a match. Take the plunge.
We are committed to creating a culture that reflects the diversity of our clients. With that goal in mind, we as a Studio understand, accept, and celebrate differences among people. We welcome everyone and prohibit all discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, religion, physical ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender.
Lara Woolfson
Owner / Principal Photographer
SHE’S GOT HER MFA IN VISUAL ART AND AWESOME.
Her name is Lara Woolfson, and she likes to move it move it. In addition to her considerable sense of humor, she brings to the studio her enormous talent in directing clients and creating stunning imagery. Her fun, conversational style puts couples at ease, and her interest in each couple’s relationship and connection translates to distinctive and intimate photos, perfectly showcasing their personalities. And it’s not just couples that are put in their best light; the setting of each shot is carefully composed and expertly encapsulated, partially a result of her obsession with interior design and all things decorative. Lara studied photography at California State University, and received her MFA in Visual Art from the College of Art and Design at Lesley University. She got her start in the industry photographing nightlife and concerts for Skinny Magazine in Edinburgh, Scotland before returning State-side and founding Studio Nouveau in 2007. Her work has been exhibited in Bromfield Gallery, Gallery 808, and the Museum of Art at UNH and published in Conde Naste, Huffington Post, and Boston Magazine to name a few.

Christine Maus
Associate Photographer
Christine Maus is here to bring kickass photography and bubblegum…and she just ran out of bubblegum. Never one to shy away from adventure, she once lived in a tree house in the jungle of St. John’s BVI, and now she and her husband have 3 little kids. We’re not quite sure which of those two escapades is more death-defying! Always learning and evolving, she received her bachelors degree in interior architecture, then went back and got a masters degree in education. She now uses that knowledge to incorporate all of those amazing architectural details she sees into her photographs. Christine’s big personality is accompanied by a big sense of humor, and quickly puts everyone around her at ease. The joy she creates leap right out of her photos, through your eyeballs, and into the happiness center in your brain. So therefore, Christine’s photos make you happier – it’s science!

Jamie Isherwood
Associate Photographer
One of the first thing you notice about Jamie Isherwood are her big, beautiful, blue eyes. Fortunately for us all, she uses those gorgeous baby blues for good and not for evil. She spies all the little moments throughout your wedding day, and captures them for us all to see, as if we share those gorgeous peepers with her! Lucky us! She began her professional career as a social worker in the field of bereavement, but found herself gravitating toward her true passion of photography – so, she set her sights on the photography program at BU’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts, and has been building her business ever since. Want to get on Jamie’s good side? Bring on the coffee and chocolate, tout suite.

Allana Taranto
Associate Photographer
Allana has been wielding a camera for nearly as long as she can remember – though she took her first official photography class in 5th grade. With degrees in both Photography and Education, she spent a few years teaching in art in schools, after-school programs, and museums, and she has seen first hand the difference that art makes in the world. She started photographing weddings right out of high school with a K1000 and a few rolls of Tri-X film and those that know those tech specs know she’s been doing this for quite a while. When cameras are not in her hands, you may find her experimenting with some knitting project, but more likely she’ll be cooking, eating, or daydreaming about her next travel adventure.

Elizabeth Leonard
Studio Manager
An inclusionist, Elizabeth doesn’t feel comfortable choosing sides – even her favorite froyo flavor is “twist” – which has served her well over the better part of the last decade as she’s been adeptly managing arts organizations. She maintains the delicate balance that creative services need for someone who understands the nuts and bolts of organizing a business, with sensitive artistic sensibilities. She has her BA in Art & Architecture History from Suffolk University, and though she could still talk your ear off about the changing role of staircases since the Medieval era, she has since been working in a variety of administrative roles for creative companies, from opera to architecture to publishing.
We love our clients...and the feeling is mutual!
